MyGigNet Virtual Site - Venue Performance Services

This column is dedicated to the logistics and services around Date of Performance (DOP). Once all the Pre-Performance modules are in place and fully operating, venues can then concentrate on each specific show using checklists. These checklists are linked to contingency handling options should one or more of the checklist items are either unattended to, or there is a physical problem with them.

Full attention is given to the handling of emergencies, with full and attentive backup provided by MyGigNet Emergency Services, a 1-800 number providing solutions to any emergency outside the realm of MGN's automated services and databases. A primary objective of this service is to put conditions in place that prevent the same situations from happening again. Once an emergency is successfully handled, the protocol for handling that emergency is entered into a database for future reference. Also, the checklist items relevant to that emergency are expanded and flagged for importance for the Venue Show Managers.

The Stage Production Module offers an online GUI for sound and light boards, and artist preferences for stage layout, monitor placement, and any sound and light mixes. These configurations are saved for future shows with that artist, and templates can be developed to tweak from.

Live recording setups of both sound and video are provided, with streaming content to MGN Presents, with an archived feed distribution model to the major internet video and radio portals. Recordings can also be licensed and released as paid downloads and/or as CD/DVDs via MGNs extensive distribution services.

MGN provides a full suite of accounting services for both artists and venues. On the venue side, staff, physical inventory, and planning modules are provided, all with cost-benefit and statistical analyses (also see Pre-Performance Venue Services) for any particular show. All banking services are offered with advanced secure financial networking partnerships with leading banks. Some venues may be eligible for MGN Foundation funds donated by philanthropists specifically for venue support, or show series support, and this included in the Venue Profile Back Office. A Venue QuickBooks accounting spreadsheet is available that is linked to local vendors for supplies, etc. Tax preparation is automatic with information derived from the Profile and QuickBooks inputs.

Although every attempt is made to cover any contingency, and to prevent litigation with open and transparent communications, MGN provides affordable legal services for any situation. Licensing requirements can be handled via MGN Wizards for liquor, lottery, employee insurance, food handling, SESAC, ASCAP, BMI, etc. All required and desired insurance services can be procured via MGN's Group Insurance policies at the group discount.

MGN is in a unique position of being able to evaluate venues against all other venues in the system, and this is an important facet of these services. Feedback surveys from bands about venues, venues about bands, customers about venues, customers about shows, as well as reports from venue mentors for venues in the MGN Venue Enhancement Program. This rating system seeks to raise the general standards of venues both for customer/audience satisfaction and artist friendliness.

A significant part of venue and artist revenue can be swag and peripherals sales--promotional items such as posters, clothing, bumper stickers for both artists and venues. Venues can also capitalize on free sponsor-supplied promotionals, such as branded serving ware, free samples, signage and sponsored events or oher co-pay promotions. MGN has hundreds of these types of vendor arrangements available to any venue who indicates an interest within their Profile.

MGN builds into its systems contracts, agreements, binders and user licenses in the most transparent way possible, despite this, there is always a need for legal counsel, arbitration, mediation, and the like. MGN provides links and relationships to all types of legal practitioners when and where it should become necessary.
