MGN Foundation

All networking options for recording music are here, as well as recording collaboration. Databases include: Producers, Studios, Engineers, and Record Companies/Distributors. Services that are inferred by those databases are all included in this Module.

For Producers, having an MGN profile allows easy access to the exact kind of band that would benefit from this particular producer. Producers can define themselves in the same way bands do, with a "similar to" algorithm, and of course, links to existing works. MGN can help the producer (or band) narrow down the "similar to" analogy by providing a complete database of all songs ever recorded (see Music Database).

Studios and engineers with Profiles can use MGN's extensive MIDI library of sounds and rhythm tracks (some public domain, others for sale), as well as Board Emulation settings, so that board settings can be synchronized among remote locations. This is useful for collaborative sessions where effects settings and editing data can be easily transmitted from board to board. This in essence networks the board together via a P2P interface.

MGN offers a full suite of online audio/video recording editing, posting and tutorial tools, where bands can literally send a live feed from a show to webpages, and record it along the way. They can then edit the recordings, release them as MP3/WMV downloads and/or send them to MGNs CD/DVD burning service for quick turnaround of product to the band, AND direct dropship to fans.

Artists can upload existing recordings and artwork in any preferred format and have them burned to CD/DVD for distribution throughout MGN's network of retailers (as well as the MGN Store). Participating studios and engineers can do the same immediately following mastering, so that product could be available in stores within days.

Record companies with profiles can search for bands with the sound they want, offer contracts, and build a stable--and working with MGN Member Agents, could easily send that stable out on the road to tour in support of the stable's albums/recordings. Bands wanting to find and approach appropriate record companies can indicate that interest in their Profile Survey and be alerted to relevant cattle calls and specific requests from record companies.

So basically, by using MGN services, an artist could record music in a studio, venue or at home, upload the recording to MGN, have CDs burned, artwork designed, printed and assembled, shipped to individuals on mailing lists, disributed to retail outlets, and then promoted across online and offline media outlets, and then book a support tour all within the Profile Module.

Other services include direct access to discount travel vendor partners (air/ground), hotels, restaurants, music stores, as well as media outlets such as radio and TV.
