MGN creates a sort of "Geek Squad" of instrument and equipment wonks, who can earn credits for assisting other MGN members with advice, equipment emergencies, holding webinars, in-person workshops, etc.
MGN creates a "Wiki" for equipment Best Practices, tips and tricks that covers everything from how to choose the best P.A. for your band, to how to string a guitar while playing it, tuba maintenance, Understanding Line 6 Amp Settings, etc., etc. The Wiki also includes equipment loading/unloading Best Practices, instrument care and maintenance, vendor information for transport cases, legal requirements for air transport, international transport issues, as well as design specs and blueprints for building your own cases, amps, and instruments of every kind.
MGN meticulously maintains a database of all instrument, amp and peripherals manufacturers, authorized dealers, retail outlets, wholesalers, and repair experts, as well as the same for P.A. and studio equipment. Beyond simple company contact info, the DB includes specific individuals' names at various vendor companies, warranty policies on file, repair and return procedures, price comparisons, company and individual experience resumes, any consumer ratings, and other MGN in-house consumer feedback--everything a professional musician (or venue owner) would need to know to make a fully informed choice on a purchase. MGN develops affiliates and partners for sales referrals with this DB, which can be a significant revenue source for MGN. This database is interfaced by the Active Tour Support Module.
MGN actively recruits leading instrument craftsmen for webinars and workshops, as well as one-on-one coaching for would-be instrument makers.
MGN seeks out endorsement deals for its members by finding out endorsement criteria and alerting Artists and Manufacturers about candidancies, and potential candidancies.
MGN maintains a pool of Roadies who are certified by MGN Roadie School after completing an internship.
