Pre-Venue Performance Services - Performance Coaching

There is a natural connection here with the Recording module and the Ratings module in the Venue Performance Service, and MGN bands, as part of their agreement with MGN must record their live performances on a regular basis for review. Bands can opt for either a digital audio recorder or video camera. They can buy these items as a discount via MGN partner vendors, or Street Team members can earn credits for recording a band for MGN review, with the bands specifying this option in order to make the requirement. Bands, Street Teams, or Venues can use MGN's Live Streaming Service, too, for this purpose (see Recording).

Once the review recordings are made, they are uploaded in this module for review. Bands can use them to self-evaluate individual's performances, and other pros agree to view/listen and comment for credits. Additionally, bands (and venues) have access to all review recordings of all bands, which is invaluable for setting standards and educationally. For example, a band could view the recordings of another band who played the same venue, to see what they did and how they did. Also, a band could use the best recorded shows for the Press Kits, or even MP3 public releases.

For venues, MGN provides a feedback opportunity survey that rates bands on several quality benchmarks. This commentary is available privately to the bands. Well-received bands then have an excellent promotional tool by using venue reviews in their media output. A 5-point system on several aspects of band performance and behavior, creates point-range quality hierarchies useful for all venues in the Booking Module. Also, if a band scores high in a particular area or areas, the MGN promo tool automatically selects out those positives for use in the Press Releasing Module. (Bands also have an opportunity to rate venues, see Ratings in Venue Performance Services)

If a band or production has a rehearsal, they can request a live MGN coach (who is not a band member) to attend, to offer pointers, opinions, and experience. Live Coaches earn credits for doing this, and specify the bands and productions or types of bands they are interested in helping in the coach's profile. Bands can offset poor rating points in this way, earning Improvement Points for doing rehearsals.
