By partnering with educational institutions MGN could sponsor grants and "X-Prize"-type achievement-oriented research. MGN offers online forums, webinars, webposiums, white paper downloads and the creation of the Music Research Wiki to append MGN's extensive Music Research Library. Leading experts and researchers will be able to conference, collaborate and interact with peers and students worldwide.
MGN's network of media and publishers ensure that new research gets disseminated and researchers with a Profile would be instantly alerted to new breakthroughs, hypotheses, discussion threads and conferences relevant to their particular line of research. MGN offers an extensive database of music researchers contacts worldwide, so MGN researchers can easily locate their colleagues and begin discussion threads either privately or publicly using the full array of MGN conferencing and collaborative tools.
MGN offers research grant writing wizards and submissions based out of the MGN Grants & Fellowships Database. Because MGN is already attracting philanthropic donations for other types of MGN services, it will be possible to become a grant source. Philanthropists who actively participate in MGN have Profiles, so they can track exactly where their donations are going and what they are accomplishing. The advantage of making grants within an end-to-end system like MGN is that research monies spent in one area can have immediate and direct effects on other areas within the MGN system. This is significant for not only the invention patent possibilities, but for being able to test psycho-social hypotheses in a complete, closed system (see MGN Foundation).
This research module is closely connected to the Music Therapy module, since testing data would be made available for psychological and physiological research.
