The Personal Profile Application is the key to the entire MyGigNet site. When a member completes the profile survey, we will know what the member is trying to accomplish. We can then recommend specific tools and resources to help the member accomplish goals.
The PPA queries the member for their intent and vision for their musical endeavor, and then isolates where in the spectrum of creative interests and commitment the member stands. With this determined, the member can be offered social networking options (such as finding bandmates, students, teachers, collaborators, agents, managers, engineers, etc., as well as proper venues, patrons, and other types of business partners).
In this demo, we are showing very simply how the profile questions can match up musicians with each other in terms of the eight (8) queries we have used. The final version of the PPA will have as many as 50-100 specific queries depending on the members' selected goal options.
The PPA is highly dynamic. The member can easily change their PPA at any time, and the system will instantly react by displaying the resources, services and applications relevant to the changes.

TOOLS AND RESOURCES (see MGN Virtual)
(Note: Think of these, and their sub-modules, as all the potential portals/modules surrounding the profile like a mandala.
Once the profile survey is completed only relevant modules will show for that particular member for super-personalization.)
Another useful concept, is the "push" model of information, or broadcast model. Each Profile Module is "pushed" the information it is asking for in an interactive way. For example, a PPA indicates and interest in attending drum workshops. When a workshop in the locale of the member comes up, a notification popup window is activated within all relevant MP's, with options to dismiss, signup, or hold. All interests and proclivities and implied preferencs activate notification windows, and in this way, make MGN a timely, dynamic, and inspirational tool for both organizing a career, and giving the member first shots at new opportunities.
This "push" model would be most dramatic within the Pro Live Performance Services Module where the band or musician requests gigs in the indicated locales. The Calendar Robot finds an open date in a venue's bookings due, say, to a cancellation of another band. Venue approved bands, or bands fitting the venue's band profile with the same open date would be immediately notified of the venue's open date. In this way, the cancelling band and the booking venue, have a solid list of backup subs, saving a lot of time, effort and stress.
VENDING COMPONENT
The MGN paradigm for what has been known as "advertising," is re-imagined as "vending." What has been officially acknowledged about advertising in social networking environments, is resentment among members when advertising for goods and services is poked in their faces while they are trying to network. In the past, this has confounded social networking sites about how to conduct a viable revenue model. MGN's take on this is similar to the new Facebook advertising model where the profile keywords creates the displays of the most relevant vendors. This is done in a small box in the browser in the lower left-hand side of the page. The member can then click through the box into a full-fledged shopping experience that is tailored to their stated interests.
MGN uses a version of this, but by offering direct vending on MGN of products and services offered by vending partners. The types of products and services vended is completely driven by the PPA. The results are further filtered and tagged, indicating what other members with similar profiles have purchased or currently own. Additionally, the member can create a "wish list" of desired purchases, and MGN will display the best prices available for those purchases, as well as display used and auction items available. The final purchase is done within the MGN shopping procedure.
For example, the member is a guitarist in a blues band. In the Vending Box on his profile page are links to a "top 10" list of favorite blues guitar amps used by members of similar age, background and influences. Another link goes to "Celebrity" amps, where the amps of artists indicated as influences on the member's profile are available.
Behind the scenes, MGN researchers and bots select out new merchandise vending links based on a mix of best price, quality and service ratings as provided by members who have made similar purchases. The search parameters are controlled by the member at this point, so best price can be displayed first, or highest ratings, etc. Additionally, search options are available to locate used gear being sold by MGN members, and can be expanded to a national and/or international seller search, depending on the rarity or availability of the item. Collectors and those in search of customizations can be serviced in this way.
Deeper into this concept is the Vending Conference Module, where multimedia information is available on a vast array of musical products, with webinars, teleconferences, chats, and video conferencing. If a member is considering the purchase of an amp, there could be videos available demonstrating how the amp can be operated, and reviews, chats and other interactive ways to help the member make their purchase decisions.
MGN performs all purchases on its transaction platform, paying vendors, and tracking member points.
